VARNVILLE, S.C. — A late-night incident in nearby Yemassee has claimed the life of Donnie Kinard, 46, as law enforcement agencies continue an intensive investigation into the circumstances surrounding the fatal stabbing.

According to the Hampton County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to a home on Pocotaligo Road at approximately 11:04 p.m. on Saturday, April 4, 2026.
