Martha Hernandez and Adrian Hernandez Hit-and-Run Death
FRESNO, CALIF. — A deadly early-morning crash at a Fresno intersection has left two victims dead and prompted an ongoing search for a hit-and-run driver, police said.
The Fresno Police Department confirmed that Martha Hernandez, 41, and her 9-year-old son, Adrian Hernandez, were killed in the incident, which occurred around 2:00 a.m. Monday, April 6, 2026, near McKinley Avenue and Fresno Street.
Investigators report that a Honda Pilot ran a red light and collided with the family’s Dodge Durango, forcing the vehicle into a nearby canal. The driver of the Honda fled on foot, abandoning the vehicle at the scene.

Authorities later learned that her son had also been inside the vehicle. A subsequent search of the canal led to the discovery of Adrian Hernandez, who was also pronounced dead.
