Dana Williamson Obituary – Raceland, KY Death: Cherish Resident Has Died

Dana Glen Williamson, 59, of Raceland, Kentucky, passed away on Sunday, April 5, 2026, and entered into eternal rest with the Lord. Born on October 10, 1966, in Huntington, West Virginia, Dana was deeply committed to his family, his community, and his love for nature. As the beloved husband of Dawna Michele Johnson Williamson, Dana shared a life filled with love, adventure, and a strong sense of service to others. His wife and son, Austin, were his greatest sources of pride and joy.

Dana was preceded in death by his mother, Louvonna Jean “Jeanie” Williamson (2005), and his father, Glen Williamson (2018). His passing leaves behind his wife of 30 years, Dawna; his son, Austin; his brothers, Kevin (Lorna) and Michael (Stephanie); his sister, Angie Whitmore (David); his aunt, June; his uncles, Terry, Roger, and Rayburn; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members who will forever cherish his memory.

Dana was a proud and active member of Minerva Lodge No. 13 A.F. & A.M. in Barboursville, West Virginia, where he was honored with the 32nd Degree Mason. He was also a dedicated member of Sheet Metal Workers Local 98. A true lover of the outdoors, Dana found peace and happiness while fishing at his cabin in Canaan Valley, West Virginia, and hunting at his cabin in Calhoun County, West Virginia. Despite his health struggles, Dana continued to be an active member of several professional fishing organizations, including the Mercury Pro Team and Kentucky Bass Nation. He found immense joy in sharing his adventures with friends, nieces, and nephews, creating memories that would last a lifetime.

Beyond his personal hobbies, Dana’s commitment to his community was unwavering. He served as mayor of Raceland and, alongside his wife, helped establish the Raceland Schools Archery Program in Raceland, Kentucky. Dana also spent many years volunteering at Wolf Pen Woods Pioneer Village in Rush, Kentucky, where he introduced young people to his passion for outdoor adventures. Dana’s love for nature, service to others, and dedication to his family and community leave a lasting impact that will continue to inspire those who knew him.
